NAJC President

Shira Stern Dmin., BCC has
served on the Board for a number of years, and and sits as an NAJC
representative on the Council on Collaboration and the American
Red Cross Critical Response Team. She has been a full time acute-care
hospital chaplain and now has a private pastoral counseling practice
in Marlboro, NJ. She lectures and teaches in synagogues, JCCs
and Healing Centers and leads services at two area independent
and assisted living facilities.

Sheila Segal |

Chaplain Sheila Segal,
MA, BCC has served two terms on the NAJC Board and is past chair
of the NAJC Ethics Committee. She was an NAJC representative to
the CoC commission that created joint standards for professional
chaplaincy. Sheila has worked in long-term care for more than
a decade and also has experience in acute-care and hospice chaplaincy.
She has written and lectured on palliative care and other end-of-life
issues.

Robert Tabak, PhD BCC. is now serving as secretary of the NAJC. He
is a former NAJC vice president. He has been a congregational
rabbi and associate director of the Board of Rabbis of Greater
Philadelphia. He is currently as staff chaplain at the Hospital
of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. Bob served
on the NAJC ethics committee, and co-chaired a committee that
developed joint standards for ethics processes with other North
American pastoral care organizations through the Council on Collaboration. He
is also an historian, and has a number of entries in the forthcoming
revised Encyclopedia Judaica, including the first entry on "Chaplaincy."

Lowell S. Kronick |

| Rabbi
Lowell S. Kronick is the Chair of the NAJC Commission on Certification
since 2003. He formulated a rigorous set of certification standards
that are in line with other major professional chaplaincy cognate
groups while maintaining a focus on the Jewish uniqueness of our
Association. He is Board Certified by NAJC, the Association for
Professional Chaplains (APC), and the National Association of
Veterans Affairs Chaplains (NAVAC). He joined the National VA
Chaplain Center in Hampton , VA as an Associate Director in October
2001 after thirty years of distinguished service as a private-sector
health-care chaplain and synagogue executive in New York City
. In February 2005, he was promoted to Associate Director for
Education and is responsible for the continuing education and
training of VA chaplains nationwide. Lowell is regarded as a master
educator and expert on professional chaplain development.

Sandra Katz, BCJC - NAJC Conference Commission Chair Sandra is
the Director of Spiritual Care at the Golden Slipper Health and
Rehab Center in Philadelphia, PA. After an interval as Assistant
Editor of the NAJC Newsletter, Sandra edited the publication for
two years. She has served on the Certification Commission and
at the inception of the Ethics Committee. Sandra has been on the
NAJC Board since 2001.
